This special edition of Cosmic Double features only writers who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. With this publication, we honor all queer artists and activists who came before.
The writers and artists in this issue come from around the world and from a variety of experiences with the LGBTQIA+ community. Some of the write about their experiences, others share other parts of their lives, and others still invite us into entirely new worlds. We hope you enjoy reading our first-ever special edition and the talented writers within.
This piece, Kaleidoscope Frost, reminds me of how my own mind can act and feel: at times colorful and bright, in other moods murky and frightening. In my own recent exploration of my gender (or lack thereof), there are moments of bright euphoria and self-discovery, and days when my thoughts twist on themselves and I question what I know or thought I knew. The textures, colors, and depths of light and shadow in the piece aren’t just parts of the natural elements the image is originally created from, but reflect our own perceptions of thoughts, emotions, identity, time, and so on.”
